Ducati : Superbike 851 Custom Ducati Superbike Picture(s) and Description:

Up for auction is my Custom Ducati 896 Tricolore Superbike. Yes, Ducati never made a 896 but what I have put together with MANY Corse bits is a show stopper of a bike. The bike has a silver Corse frame from Fast by Ferracci. In reading about the Ferracci Superbike program, it has been reported that Eraldo liked the geometry on the 851 frames. I have never measured the frames to determine the significance of the geometry, but suffice it to say that this frame and subframe was purchased from Fast by Ferracci 851 Superbike race program as left over spares. There were no frame numbers stamped into the frame, however, we were able to get a factory Vin stamped from a crashed 851. Therefore, the bike carries a valid Arizona title and registration. Another item that is full Corse is the fully adjustable shock linkage with eccentric which now is unobtanium. This allowed us to use a low mileage 2001 Ducati 996 engine for the power plant. The fuel tank is the aluminum Corse item that bolts into the frame. There is also an original AMA Championship decal on the tank for winning the 1994 AMA Superbike season (this came from the AMA and not Ebay). Also worthy of note is purpose built 50 mm 2:1 F1 manufactured exhaust with 851 SP stamped into the metal. The exhaust note is glorious with the 2:1 system and the corresponding Corse carbon fiber expansion chamber. Personally, I also like the effect of the 2:1 system and what it does to improve the punch of the mid-range. Other upgrades to this custom bike are: -Adjustable Ohlins Rear Shock with Remote Resevoir -Silver 17" Marchesini 5 Spoke Wheels with Very low use Dunlop Sportmax GP tires -Modern Showa Gold Nitride Forks -Brembo 4 pad/4pot calipers -Custom Made Corbin Seat (Had to send the entire seat base as the mold to the 851 had been destroyed) -CF Corse Expansion Tank and Under-Seat Tray -CF Corse Oil Cooler Surround -CF Engine Belt Covers - CF Corse (small) Battery Base -CF Dash Surrounds and CF Rear Fender -Billet Footpegs, Sprocket Cover Fuel Cap & Clutch Cover Under-slung rear Bremco Bracket (In the professionally prepared photos, the rear caliper is missing. Rest assured that a rear caliper is fully operational on the bike) Please know that this is not an original 851 Tricolore. This bike is not a 888 with a different paint job. This is a 1-off custom bike where I feel that I was able to capture the Soul of the original Ducati Superbike but with upgraded engine, suspension, brakes & wheels as well as a paint scheme that in my humble opinion more truly communicates the concept of the use of the Italian Flag in the paint scheme of a Tricolore. The bike is a blast to ride and a major crowd pleaser. As I get older, I appreciate the more upright riding position of the 851/888 bikes. The suspension has been professionally set-up by Tom Hull at his race shop in Phoenix. Noone can set up a Ducati to work at its optimum like a professional racer like Tom. Tom has done all of the fine tuning to this bike and will be happy to comment on the technical issues regarding this bike. He can be reached by e-mail: tdhull@cox.net or shop: 480-641-3871. Tom likes the bike so much that he had a friend who is a professional photographer to take pictures of the bike. Therefore, sending more pictures is no problem. Pease know that this bike needs a good home as an injury from a car accident makes it hard for me to ride. It does not make sense to have a bike this beautiful and with this type of performance to sit idle in the garage under wraps. However, I am only going to entertain legitimate inquiries. I will trailer the bike up to 200 miles in diameter from Tucson, Arizona. For international bidders, I do have paperwork and such for potentially more ease of dealing with your country's customs. However, I am enthusiast and NOT a shop. No guaranties are offered or implied as it relates to the performance of the bike or your customs issues. I Understand International shipping and am willing to help there. You must have positive feedback from Ebay and PayPal to bid. 15% non-refundable down payemnt must be made within 48 hours to close of the auction. Balance must be made through international wire or PayPal. Attempts at fraudulent financial transactions will be reported to appropriate governmental agencies.Feel free to contact me or Tom with your inquiries and we will work to answer them as efficiently and honestly as we can. Good luck bidding.
