BMW : R-Series R1100RT 2000 BMW R1100RT Well Accessorized Great Shape R1100 RT Picture(s) and Description:

This is a nice 2000 BMW R1100RT with 60631 miles on the clock. The bike was maintained by Steve Strickland at Motoworks Chicago and I have a full service history to back that up. The major service was just performed, right on schedule at the 60,000 mile mark. The RT is a killer touring machine, it is light and nimble, but still offers the protection that the best full fairing in the business offers. She has heated grips, an electric adjustable windshield, a Throttlemeister "cruise control" device. The bike also has a Sargent seat, and a full set of bags, including the BMW top case and saddlebags. The bags have the slimmer "City Lids" on them now, but she comes with the larger touring lids as well, so you may put whichever you prefer, the city lids are great around town, because with them mounted the handlebars are the widest point on the bike. Don't let the mileage scare you, this bike has been maintained, and is in better mechanical condition than most other lower mileage bikes, she is just getting broken in. She has numerous minor cosmetic blemishes that you can see in the pics, nothing major, just the wear and tear that you would expect from a well maintained 60,000 mile machine. As far as service she has had all of the BMW scheduled maintenance performed. This includes the last major inspection that we performed at 60K. We also have all the paperwork for a major inspection and clutch replacement/spline lube that was performed at 48K. The previous owner of this machine rode her often and took his maintenance very seriously. As a 60,000 mile bike there are numerous small cosmetic blemishes that you would expect from a used bike, but overall and mechanically this is a nice bike. The R1100RT is a fine touring bike, enough wind protection to be comfortable in inclement weather and for all day rides, but still light and nimble through the twisties. As all the beemerphiles know, the GS and the RT are the bikes that BMW's reputation is built on. They are great bikes and this is a fine example.
