1973 Kawasaki Z1 900 Second owner, original uestored Picture and Description:
1973 Kawasaki Z1900. An early Z1 with early features. Number 1989 off the assembly line October 1972. I am the second owner of this Z1. I bought it from the original owner a couple years ago. I have the original Pennsylvania title in his name as well as the current Illinois title in my name. It has never been restored. It is all original except for the tires and the exhaust system. I have the original exhaust system but it is rusted behond repair so I bought a complete reproduction exhaust system including all new mounting hardware and flange collars. I also have a set of reproduction Dunlop Gold Seal tires as were original equipment on Z1's that I have not installed. The tool kit is under the seat, The original chain oil is intake and is working. I have the original owners manual. This Z1 is stunning in appearance and runs excellent. It has never been restored or rebuilt. The orignal paint has a few chips here and there and the chrome has light rust specks. Everything works as it should including the gauges. The engine does not smoke or leak oil. The chain oiler leaves a spot in my garage where I park it as they all did. The carburetors are the original early carbs and work perfectly. However one of the overflow tubes is missing. Plug wires are original and still have the plastic number clips on them. Chain is original non o-ring style in great condition. This is a wonderful example of a first year Z1 that any collector will be proud of. All comments or criticism are welcome. Let me know what you think.
